About me

About Me

My name is Aleesa! I'm a Filipino-American freelance illustrator based in California.

I've been an artist and a writer for as long as I can remember, and so I especially love any form of illustrative storytelling, whether that's be in the form of comics, visual novels, or video games. My goal one day is to write my own webcomic, publish my own novel with original illustrations, or even create a visual novel. If in another life or this life, or if I'm meant to make an art as a career in this one, I'd love to design video game characters and write their stories.

By day, I work as an ICU social worker! You can find more about me and view my other works at my art card, here!

About the Project

Since I was a kid, I loved consuming fan art, fan fiction, and creating my own OCs but never had the guts to do anything with my interests. I still have some OC art work from my childhood.

With Yara and her world, the story I've called Whispering Tides, started off as a bit of self indulgence story inspired as a ship to Jin Kamurai, but it became so much more to me. In many ways, she carries a part of me, my dreams, my aspirations, my hobbies, my thoughts about the world (seen and unseen), and in other ways she carries a part of everyone else I've ever met that has made me feel alive. And that's the truth of the project and what it's become — it is something that makes me feel alive and human as I create it. It may never mean a whole lot to the world and its story may never actually see the light of day in its entirity, but right now, as I create it, that's what it is to me — something I've made with my two hands and my heart.

I hope if you've stumbled across it, you see my heart in it, even if it is art that is born of another serialized piece of work.

Tokyo Debunker

About the Game

Tokyo Debunker, owned and created by Zigza, inspired this project of mine. If you don't already follow the game and the story, you can see their official website here. Their fandom wiki is here.

"Tokyo — where the brightest lights cast the darkest shadows. When you brush past a thousand shoulders a day, can you really be sure all of them are human? Stray hearts gather at the crossroads, each with a wish they sold their soul to fulfill. The ordeals that await them will test their bonds and their hunger. Unveil the truth that lurks in the shadows. Welcome to Darkwick Academy."

Tokyo Debunker is mobile adventure and character collecting game created by ZigZaGame. After being cursed by an anomaly, the main character is enrolled into the prestigious Darkwick Academy and interacts with other students known as ghouls to help solve supernatural cases all over Tokyo, as well as aim to find out the way to cure her curse.
